May 16th, 2008 - John Coccuzi Sextet

Vince Midtown Stomp presents John Cocuzzi Sextet!

JOHN COCUZZI is known in the Washington, DC area for his dynamic style on vibes, piano, vocals and drums, and is recognized by many as one of the most versatile, talented and exciting musicians to come along in quite a while. An intuitive performer, he possesses that musical "fire in the belly" to ignite a crowd as he "tells his story" through high-energy, spirited solos that often elicit standing ovations at live performances. John has performed at many domestic jazz festivals and parties, plus various prestigious festivals in Europe. He tours annually with Ed Polcer's All-Star band and is fortunate to have performed at every single Atlanta Jazz Party since it began in 1990. In the DC area, John appears with his own trio/quartet, and has performed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Smithsonian’s IMAX Jazz Café, the Corcoran Art Gallery, and Blues Alley, Washington DC’s premier jazz club. He has also performed at the Lincoln Center in New York City, and at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore.
