Midtown Stomp's Swing Dances

Midtown Stomp currently hosts two exiting nights of dancing. At our venues you'll find great music, friendly people, and lots of fun. A partner is never needed as our dancing is social and people ask each other to dance. At each venue you'll find swing dances classes to keep your dancing fun and fresh.

Friday Nights at Midtown Stomp

Dance the night away at Midtown Stomp Friday is the night for swing dancing in Sacramento! Held in the beautiful Eastern Star Ballroom (2719 K Street in Sacramento) which was built in 1929 you'll be transported back in time to an era when Swing was king. Each week people of all ages and walks of life dance the night away to best Swing, Jazz, and Blues music in Sacramento. You'll even catch live music twice a month ($12 cover charge) featuring the bands from around the world. Some of the musicians in the bands we bring in have played with such legends as Keely Smith, Etta James, Chick Corea, John Lee Hooker Jr., Charles Brown, and many more. Our DJ nights ($8 cover charge) feature a wide varity of music that includes something for everyone. Song requests are always welcome, just talk to our DJ!

You never need a partner because our dances are extremely social and you're sure to make great friends at Midtown Stomp. The dance runs from 8:30pm to 11:30 and there is a introductory lesson at 7:30pm which is included in your cover charge. We also offer "Group Swing Dance Classes" for those who want to take their dancing to another level. Come out and join us every Friday night!

Wednesday Nights at Firehouse 5

Dancers showing off their moves Wednesday night is Midtown Stomp's newest weekly dance starting October 27th, 2010, and held in the more intimate Firehouse 5 Dance studio. Now on Monday's your swing dancing fix won't seem so far away! All you have to do is get through until Wednesday and you'll be able to dance your troubles away. We'll bring all of the fun from Friday nights and mix in some things too.

We recommend knowing a least a little bit of swing dancing for this night as we do not currently provide our Drop-in Beginning Swing Dancing class on Wednesday. However, if you show up we'll do our best to help you have a great time!
