| LEVEL 1 |
This is the level for you if you have never
danced before or if you have done some dancing but have never
done swing. This class will take you through a 6-count basic
step and will cover a variety of moves and combinations all
taught at a beginner level. This class is all about sharing
some fun steps to fabulous music while starting to touch on
the skills of controlling your body and connecting with your
partner.
|
| LEVEL 2 |
This level is geared towards those with little or no previous
partner/swing dance experience, and for those new to Lindy
Hop. You will learn a variety of essential Lindy Hop moves
and patterns based on an 8-count basic step, such as the swing
out, the Lindy circle, inside/outside turns, and more. This
level focuses on footwork and connection with your partner
in order to get you out onto the social dance floor. This
class is also for those who have taken some beginner Lindy
Hop classes and would like to solidify their basics.
|
| LEVEL 3 |
You have already taken some Lindy Hop classes, and you are
familiar with basic moves and patterns, such as the swing
out, the Lindy circle and side-by-side Charleston. This level
will explore the heart of Lindy Hop. You will work on and
refine your core skills, especially lead/follow skills, so
you can start to feel comfortable dancing the Lindy Hop socially.
Styling such as swivels and footwork variations start to come
into play at this level.
|
| LEVEL 4 |
You feel very comfortable with the basics and can put the
moves together on the social dance floor. Lead follow skills
are developing and connection through the body and control
through moves flow. It's time to build your vocabulary of
moves based on good connection with your partner and good
lead/follow technique. It's also time to start work on connecting
to the music to make your dancing SWING.
|
| LEVEL 5 |
You've probably taken lots of classes and workshops and
have a whole mess of social dance experience. You look forward
to really working on the quality of your basic movement and
your musicality, as well as lead and follow at a more refined
level. You're thinking beyond the steps, to the styling and
are ready to really develop HOW you dance.
|
| LEVEL 6 |
| You get it! If all that the instructors worked on in this
level was swing outs (not that they will, but who knows),
you would be just fine with that. Now it's time to make Lindy
Hop into ART! Classes at this level are typically invite-only. |
