Workshop Tracks

Savoy Nights will feature 3 unique tracks to help ensure each dancers gets the most out of the weekend. Each track will feature classes with all of our instructors and the classes will focus on the needs of each track.

Beginning/Intermediate Track

You have already taken some Lindy Hop classes, and you are familiar with basic moves and patterns, such as the swing out, the Lindy circle and side-by-side Charleston. This level will explore the heart of Lindy Hop. You will work on and refine your core skills, especially lead/follow skills, so you can start to feel comfortable dancing the Lindy Hop socially. Styling such as swivels and footwork variations start to come into play at this level.

Intermediate Track

You feel very comfortable with the basics and can put the moves together on the social dance floor. Lead follow skills are developing and connection through the body and control through moves flow. It's time to build your vocabulary of moves based on good connection with your partner and good lead/follow technique. It's also time to start work on connecting to the music to make your dancing SWING.

Advanced Track

This track is by audition only!!!

You've probably taken lots of classes and workshops and have a whole mess of social dance experience. You look forward to really working on the quality of your basic movement and your musicality, as well as lead and follow at a more refined level. You're thinking beyond the steps, to the styling and are ready to really develop HOW you dance.
